Take Note: Annual Benefits Enrollment

Most of your current benefit elections will carry forward to 2024. You do not need to actively enroll this year, unless you want to:

  • Enroll for the first time
  • Make changes to your current benefit plans and/or dependents
  • Elect a Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Account (FSA) contribution amount for 2024

If you do not take action during Annual Benefits Enrollment, you will not be able to change your benefits until next year’s annual enrollment period unless you experience a qualified status change, such as getting married or having a baby.

Note: If you are currently enrolled in a local HMO plan, there are no changes to your medical benefits for 2024.

Benefits Changes for 2024

2024 Benefit Plan Rates

Due to rising healthcare costs, 2024 medical and dental rates for colleagues and their dependents will increase by an average of 3%. Vision rates are decreasing by 5%. The 2024 rates for all benefits will be available in the Total Rewards Café by October 25.

Summaries of Benefits and Coverage (SBCs)

You can find the SBCs and other legal notices here, including the Accident, Critical Illness, and Hospital Indemnity Plan Summaries.

Savings and Spending Account 2024 Limits

These are the limits for 2024:

  • The Health Savings Account (HSA): $4,150 for individual coverage and $8,300 for family coverage. Catch-up contributions of $1,000 are allowed if you are at least 55 years of age (includes those who will turn age 55 by the calendar year end).
  • In 2024, you can save from $100 to $3,200 in the Health Care FSA. You will only be able to carry over a maximum of $640 to your Health Care FSA from 2024 to 2025 for use in 2025.
  • In 2024, you can save from $100 to $3,200 in the Limited Purpose FSA.
  • Dependent Care Flexible Spending Account (DCFSA): $5,000 unless you and your spouse or domestic partner file separate tax returns, in which case, the most you can save is $2,500.

ID Cards

If you enroll in a Sysco-sponsored national medical plan for the first time or change plans for 2024, you will receive a medical ID card from Aetna in early January sent to the home address you have on file. You will not get a new medical plan ID card if you do not change plans for 2024

Important Reminders

Make Sure Your Current Providers are in the Network

Occasionally, providers move networks. Take a moment to make sure your providers are in the network. To see if your medical, dental, behavioral health, and other providers are in the Aetna network, click here. You will be prompted to select a plan name. The plan names are:

If Both You and Your Spouse or Domestic Partner Work at Sysco

If you and your spouse or domestic partner are both eligible to enroll in the Sysco Health and Welfare plans, you can select one of the below enrollment options:

  1. You may each enroll independently/separately in Sysco benefits
    OR
  2. You may cover your spouse as an eligible dependent under your plan (or vice versa)

Please note—you cannot elect both option 1 and 2. No Sysco colleague can be covered as both a dependent and a colleague under the plan.

In addition, your child(ren) cannot be covered as a dependent by both you and your spouse or domestic partner. Only one of you can cover your eligible child(ren).

Newly Hired or Newly Eligible Prior to September? Take Note!

As of May 18, Dependent Verification Services (DVS) were suspended by the Sysco Benefits Center to implement a new administrator. On September 1, 2023, the Sysco Benefits Center resumed administration of DVS. If you were hired or were newly eligible for benefits between May 18 and September 1 and added dependents to your benefits, you should have received notification on how to verify your dependents and provide the required documentation. If you have not yet been notified and need to verify your dependents, call the Sysco Benefits Center at 800-55-SYSCO, Monday–Friday, 7 a.m.–7 p.m. CT.
